2017 MCAA MAC PEC Golf Tournament Results
The MCAA’s MAC PEC Golf Tournament was held Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club during the MCAA Midyear Meeting in Steamboat Springs, Colo.
The spectacular 18-hole course featured incredible views of the Yampa Valley. The 70 bunkers and large, undulating bent grass greens made for a truly championship-caliber course enjoyed by all players.

The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) presented the MCAA Safety Advantage Awards, sponsored by Federated Insurance, on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, during the MCAA Midyear Meeting in Steamboat Springs, Colo.
The MCAA Safety Advantage Awards are presented based on a mason contractor’s incident rate. Awards were presented to the top companies with greater than 100,000 hours worked by all employees, and the top companies with less than 100,000 hours worked by all employees.

North Carolina Fastest Trowel on the Block Registration Open

The North Carolina Fastest Trowel on the Block competition will be held Wednesday, November 15 in Gold Hill, N.C. from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
The first place mason and tender will win $2,500 plus entry, airfare, and two nights accommodation to the national MCAA Fastest Trowel on the Block competition in Las Vegas. Second place will be awarded $1,500 and $1,000 for third place.

Storm Shelter Construction Education and Credentialing Program Coming to St. Louis
The MCAA’s Storm Shelter Construction Education and Credentialing Program will be held October 27, 2017 in St. Louis.
The Storm Shelter Construction Education and Credentialing Program will show the end user and designers that your company is serious when it comes to proper installation of a high windstorm shelter. The program was created partially in response to the new code requiring schools to have storm shelters.
The program is broken down into five different topics:
- Introduction and Background
- Quality Control and Quality Assurance
- Reinforcing and Grouting
- Anchoring Dowels at Foundations
- Connections
The courses are specifically designed for the installer and cover every facet critical to the successful installation of a storm shelter. Upon completion of all five courses, the participant will earn a Credentialed Storm Shelter Installer (CSSI) credential. A certificate and card will be mailed to the participant.
