John Llewellyn started Lionheart Publishing in June 1987 with a staff to two and grew it to a 19-person organization and seven titles with gross revenues of $2 million+ in 2008. He has experience in all aspects of magazine publishing: design, editing, marketing, ad sales, circulation and overall management. He has always endeavored to deliver profitable, well-produced and well-written publications that meet the needs of the readers. A graduate of the London School of Economics with a Bachelor of Science in economics, John has a background as a writer, editor and officer in the Royal Marines. He is also skilled in the areas of sales and cost management.
Jennifer Morrell has 13 years of experience in the publishing industry as a writer and editor, covering such topics as real estate and development, health care, relationships and sports. A graduate of The University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in magazines. Jennifer is also an award-winning columnist and mother of a 2-year-old daughter, Macy.
Alan Brubaker has been involved in magazine publishing and print production for more than16 years. Alan is extremely creative and efficient, overseeing the print production, design and overall quality of Masonry magazine. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in graphic design.
Marvin Diamond has been working in communications in different marketing and publishing capacities for more than 38 years. He joined Lionheart Publishing in 1992, working in advertising sales for the company’s various publications. In 2002, Marvin took over the helm of advertising sales for Masonry magazine.
Marvin’s primary mission at Lionheart is to represent Masonry magazine, the Mason Contractor Association of America, and to assure clients receive top-notch customer service.
Advertising Sales Representative
Art Schaffer entered the publishing industry in 1995 as a circulation manager, after completing sales and marketing work with a large informational services company. He joined Lionheart Publishing, Inc., in 2004, initially handling major marketing and support activities. Upon completion of those activities, Art moved into advertising sales with Masonry magazine and several other Lionheart publications.
As a sales representative, it is Art’s primary goal to provide the best value and service possible to Masonry’s advertising clients and subscribers. He discusses and implements advertising strategies that will best fit and meet his clients’ business objectives.
Online Projects Manager
Patton McGinley has worked in publishing since 1984, having joined Lionheart Publishing in 1992. He has worked in a variety of design and production capacities as well as information management and technical support. In the mid-1990s, Patton taught himself Web production and has been managing Lionheart’s online presence ever since.
Patton earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Art in drawing and painting from Georgia State University. He uses his talents and skills to manage the Masonry magazine’s Web site. Patton is a hard and thorough worker who loves to learn new web applications when time permits.
