Concrete block has long been a popular and reliable building product for homes and buildings across the country. Now, block — or the concrete masonry unit (CMU) — is getting an aesthetic makeover, jumping aboard the green movement and finding its way into fast-install, mortarless systems.
I should have bought it. I should have moved on it. I should have done it. Ever hear someone say that when discussing a piece of equipment or house or property someone else bought at a fraction of its worth?
Since early mankind moved out of caves and into communities, brick has been a desired construction material. With readily available materials, a simple manufacturing process, and durable and sustainable results, brick prominence was easy to understand.
