New Products

SmartVENT, Inc.
Glassboro, N.J.

Foundation flood vents are required by federal mandate to be installed in homes constructed in areas prone to flooding. Unlike other flood vents, SmartVENT only opens when water rises during a flood, and has air louvers that only open when it is not freezing outside. Two models are available: the SmartVENT provides flood protection along with ventilation, while the FloodVENT protects for floods only. Both products are stainless steel, come in 8" x 16" and 16" x 16" sizes, and install without the use of tools. For more information, call (888) 628-4115, e-mail info@smartvent.com, or visit www.smartvent.com.

Empire Level Manufacturing
Mukwonago, Wis.

Empire introduces the new 945 Magnum level, same tough frame but with added features designed exclusively for masons. This professional level is built with a reinforced aluminum frame encased in high-strength structural ABS material, preventing the level from being affected by moisture or temperature. The 945 Magnum features tempered glass lenses over the full-travel vials. Internal rubber gaskets protect each lens from moisture so vials won't cloud up or fog over. Another addition to this level is Empire's Vari-Pitch vial. Exclusive to the 945 Magnum, this vial is indispensable for setting a pitch or slope.
